Dr. Caccopola is the solo physician and owner of Heightened Health Functional Family Medicine Center. She has been caring for patients in the Lake Zurich/Barrington area since 2004. She has extensive experience in outpatient, inpatient, pediatric, and geriatric care. She graduated as valedictorian from Manhattanville College, NY, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. She then moved to Illinois to attend medical school at Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Downers Grove.

Having received her Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine in 2001, she went on to complete her residency training in Family Medicine at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago.  Dr. Caccopola is Board Certified in Family Medicine and also holds a Certification in Functional Medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine.  Additionally, she is completing her Fellowship studies in Anti-Aging, Metabolic, and Functional Medicine through the American Academy of Anti-Aging.

One of Dr. Caccopola's passions is helping men and women achieve optimal health through bioidentical hormone optimization.  She is certified as an Advanced BHRT Practitioner, having completed training in Bio-identical Hormone Replacement under WorldLink  Academy's renowned expert and pioneer in the field,  Dr. Neal Rouzier.

Dr. Caccopola strives to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and personalized medical care. Through her postdoctoral training in Functional Medicine, she seeks to correct underlying physiological dysfunction and imbalances, which are the root causes of chronic disease. She emphasizes sustained lifestyle changes as foundational components in wellness restoration and maintenance. Proper sleep, optimal nutrition, regular physical activity, stress-reduction, positive relationships, and patient education and participation are all vital to achieving and maintaining optimal health. Additionally, she offers advanced laboratory testing and pharmaceutical–grade supplements as part of an integrative approach to assessing and treating a variety of medical conditions, such as autoimmune, cardio-metabolic, gastrointestinal, neurological, and musculoskeletal disorders as well as mitochondrial dysfunction, detoxification, hormonal and nutritional imbalances.

On a personal note, Dr. Caccopola is married with two daughters. When not spending time with her family or caring for patients, she enjoys hiking, photography, and experimenting with Keto recipes. She is an aspiring Martial Artist and holds a First Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

"Hi, my name is Oreo. I will come up and greet people at the door. If you would like to pet me, ask me to sit first. Please do not pick me up or feed me without asking. If you do not wish to interact with me, just ignore me or ask for me to be put in my crate.  Thank you!"

Oreo is very excited to be part of the Heightened Health team. Since 12 weeks of age, he has worked diligently with Dr. Caccopola in each of his obedience classes to become a Canine Good Citizen and has aspirations to certify as a Pet Therapy dog.

Oreo is a West Highland Terrier, which means he is “a small dog with a big personality.” Never intimidated and always up for a new adventure, Westies are highly intelligent, loyal, and very friendly. Though Oreo loves to go to “work” and meet new people, he is happiest in his role as the beloved pet of Dr. Caccopola and her family. When not providing comfort to others, he enjoys chasing after small critters, napping by the fireplace, and getting scratched behind his ears.

Kim, Administrative Assistant

Kim is the office assistant and administrator for Heightened Health.  She is thrilled to be part of this small medical practice focused on preventative health and wellness. She looks forward to greeting patients, and working with Dr. Caccopola to help her practice run smoothly.

Kim joined Heightened Health after taking several years off to be home with her 3 children. Previously, Kim worked as a software analyst/tester and taught elementary school.  Kim is married and has three kids and two dogs.  When not spending time with her family, she enjoys cooking, baking, boating, and traveling.
